ROME (Reuters) -- "...pizza can help to reduce the risk of developing certain forms of cancer, according to revealed Italian scientists.


In negation of habitually accepted sense common medical that it indicates that the food that one really enjoys tends to be bad for the health, investigators of the Farmacológico Institute of Milan discovered that to eat one or more pizzas per week more reduces drastically the incidence of some types of cancer.

A study done on 8,000 Italians detected that the regular consumers of pizza were the 59 percent less prone to contract esophagus cancer, whereas the risk of developing colon cancer fell a 26 percent.

"We knew that the tomato sauce protected against certain tumors, but really did not hope that pizza as a whole could provide a protection so hard", declared investigator Silvano Gallus to the newspaper the Republica. "
